Course interview: Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
beberapa hari lepas, aku baru je attend course interview untuk degree intake nanti. yes, untuk sesetengah course kena interview which is include Allied Health Science. temuduga ni agak berbeza from year to year, so aku just nak share proses interview yang kteorg lalui onyear of 2016.

before hari interview, pihak cfs iium akan held a kuliyyah briefing. masa malam tu, bbrpe lecturers from uia kuantan akan bagi briefing bagi setiap course yang ada dalam Kuliyyah of Allied Health Science, IIUM. 

masa tahun ni, dyorg bukak 7 courses:
  1. Dietitics
  2. Audiology
  3. Optometry
  4. Radiography and Diagnostic Imaging
  5. Physiotheraphy
  6. Biomedical Science
  7. Speech Language Pathology

at the end of briefing, kteorg pon dapat borang ni. suruh isi apa yang patut, and tulis rank choice untuk course yang korang nak sampai lah yang tak berapa nak. 

at first, first choice aku Dietitics tapi after dengar briefing - aku lebih tertarik dengan Speech Language Pathology (SLP) . so at the day of interview, aku pun pegi lah kat bilik untuk Audiology and Speech Language Pathology. oh, masa hari tu each course ada bilik yang tertentu. kalau firsst choice kau SLP, terus tunggu turn kat bilik SLP. 




masa interview tu, kteorg masuk ber-empat satu sesi. and satu sesi tu approximate 15 mins (interview mmg dah set timer siap-siap). interview ni macam biasa lah, dia mesti nak tahu course apa kita pilih and kenapa?

mula-mula lepas duduk dia akan suruh kteorg introduce ourselves, so cerita lah apa yang patut and jangan lupa lah promote diri korang tu. selalu nyer interview akan tanya soalan based on apa yang korang cakap. so every single statement yang korg mention, mesti ada backup jawapan.

contoh:

"I am the youngest daughter in my family ................. "
so interviewer akan tanya, "You're the youngest in your family, means that you don't have any relationship with the kids. You know that speech therapist need to handle disabled kids?"
"Yes, I know. Even though I am the youngest but my mom is a baby sitter. We have two kids at home, and I really have a good relationship with them".




kalau korang tanya aku pasal SLP, memang sumpah aku tak tahu banyak. lagi lah course ni course baru dekat UIA. so masa korang interview tu prepare lah elok-elok, buat lah research pasal course yang korang minat. and yang paling penting kena confident masa jawab.

min pointer untuk Allied Health Science ialah 2.50 . if pointer korang tak gempak, ssokay just do your best. sbb deputy dean sendiri cakap, pointer mmg penting tapi yang soft skill (communication skill) tu lebih penting - kualiti tu yang dyorg nak tengok.

apa-apa pun, doakan lah aku dapat course yang aku nak. sebab aku bbrpe hari lepas interview, banyak benda yang aku fikir pasal degree course ni.
